Double-glazed windows and their beneficial properties.


One of the best improvements in window design, created by modern technology - it is a double pane window. The thermal conductivity of glass is about 2.5 times higher than of PVC material, and about 20 times higher than air. Therefore, the plastic windows use the glass package instead of the usual glass. It is a hermetically fastened glass that is filled with air in between. Our window design is made using specialized - energy green glass. The effect can be achieved by coating the glass with a thin metal oxide layer. You should be aware that without selective coating, the double glass package cannot achieve the regulatory factor of living quarters - 1.8 W / m2 K *.

Glass composition and thickness varies in a wide range. The most common variant that is suitable for our climate, is 24 millimeters thick single-chamber glass package, the formula 4-16 - 4. This means that two 4 mm thick glass panes with the distance of 16 mm in between are connected "in-situ", through which runs the perimeter of a thin perforated aluminum frame filled with silicate gel or other desiccant. The gel absorbs residual moisture between the glass, protecting the glass from sweating. New moisture from the ends will not get there anymore, because everything will end block is topping up with silicone sealant.

Protection against intrusions sometimes makes external triplex glass, 6 mm thick, which is very difficult to break. 24 mm thick single-chamber glass package reduces noise twice (about 20 to 25 decibels). Dual-chamber glass package of external noise makes quieter than 40-42 decibels.

Window insulation is used to characterize the degree of heat transfer resistance coefficient (size reversible heat conduction coefficient). The larger the size of the role, the better. Airtight glass packets it constitutes from 0.34 to 0.37. This means that the external temperature - 26 C, the glass temperature of the room side is + 50 C.

The sealed airtight space between the glass is depleted air, which increases the sound and heat insulation, or inert gas such as argon or krypton.

Many believe that the inert gas in windows is nothing more than an expensive superfluity. In fact, the gas is much denser than air, that means - under the laws of acoustics, it works as a barrier for sound waves. In addition, the heat transfer coefficient of resistance is also increased by about 0.03 and reaches about 0.39. So at the external temperature - 260C, the glass temperature in the room will be + 70C.

Energy-saving windows:


It is a low-emission energy-saving glass with metal spraying. It inhibits the heat from the room to the outside and allows even in cold climates to get along with much thinner single-chamber glass packages. In addition, for the following energy-saving glass package (without filling with inert gas) heat transfer coefficient of resistance constitutes 0.56 (ie at external temperature - 260C, the glass temperature in the room will be 14,50C +), but with an inert gas for 0.67 (internal temperature of + 160C).


How to choose the type of insulated glass?

For sound insulation to improve the low-frequency noise reduction from street, we recommend:
  • internal glass installation (6 mm instead of 4 mm);
  • different thicknesses of glass, to avoid glass resonance effect the insulated glass;
  • triplex glass installation in the insulated glass.


In order to improve the thermal insulation characteristics, and for better insulating glass thermal protection it is recommended:

  • fill the outer chamber between the walls with an inert gas (argon, krypton) with a density greater than the density of air.


To improve security, it is recommended to:

  • install triplex glass (two pieces of glass that are held together by a layer of polymeric material) - glass breaking, it remains openings instead smashes into pieces;
  • Install tempered glass (windows exposed to a special chemical and heat treatment, thereby having strength characteristics that are 5 times higher than the strength of ordinary glass).
